REGULATING DISTRICT SEEKS ADDITIONAL INPUT FOR GREAT SACANDAGA LAKE PERMIT SYSTEM RULES Public Comments Will Be Accepted through December 15, 2006 The Hudson River - Black River Regulating District announced that the process of gathering public input regarding the draft rules for the permit system at Great Sacandaga Lake has been extended to December 15, 2006.  “At the request of legislators, local leaders and interested stakeholders, we have slowed down the rule making process to provide people with more time to ask questions and submit public comments,” stated Glenn A. LaFave, Executive Director.  “While the draft rules remain posted on our web site, we plan to meet with legislators and stakeholder groups to answer questions and receive input about the draft rules.”

At the earliest, the Regulating District will implement the revised rules in 2008, with the exception of permit fees which have been capped until 2010.  The Regulating District has posted the draft rules on its web site at http://www.hrbrrd.com/draftrules.html.  This web page also contains a public comment form for people who wish to submit written comments.  Copies of the draft rules and public comment forms can also be obtained at the District’s Sacandaga and Albany offices.  Written public comments must be received or postmarked by December 15, 2006.
