REGULATING DISTRICT ESTABLISHES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Group Will Make Recommendations for Revising Permit System Rules
at the Great Sacandaga Lake At the November 13, 2006 meeting of the Board of the Hudson River-Black River Regulating District, the Board established an Advisory Committee to make recommendations for revising the draft rules for the permit system at the Great Sacandaga Lake.
“Supervisors from the Towns around the Great Sacandaga Lake met with me and recommended the Regulating District create this Advisory Committee,” stated Glenn A. LaFave, Executive Director. The Committee will include the following representatives:
One person appointed by each of the Supervisors of the Towns of Benson, Broadalbin, Day, Edinburg, Hadley, Hope, Mayfield, Northampton and Providence.
One person from each of the following organizations:
• Back-Lot Owners Committee (BLOC)
• Batchellerville Bridge Action Committee (BBAC)
• Day Property Owners Association
• Fish House Community Center
• Fulton County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry
• Great Sacandaga Lake Association (GSLA)
• Great Sacandaga Lake Fisheries Federation, Inc. (GSLFF)
• Sacandaga Park Civic Association
• Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce
Two persons from:
• Great Sacandaga Lake Business Association (GSLBA) - one marina owner and one member who is not a marina owner
“We have reached out to these groups and all plan to participate. We are pleased that these volunteers have come forward to work with us on this important project,” said Mr. LaFave.
All meetings will be open to the public. The time and location of each meeting will be posted on the Regulating District’s web site.
As the Board revises the current draft rules and develops the proposed rules, the recommendations of the Advisory Committee will be reviewed and considered. The Board will also review and consider all other written public comments received or postmarked by
December 15, 2006.
