RESERVOIR ELEVATIONS ANTICIPATED TO RISE DUE TO RECENT RAINFALL Please be aware of the increasing elevation of the Great Sacandaga Lake, Indian Lake and Stillwater Reservoir over the next few days.
Heavy rain that fell over the Great Sacandaga Lake watershed on Thursday is expected to increase the elevation of the reservoir approximately 1.4 feet by Wednesday. Robert S. Foltan, Chief Engineer of the Hudson River - Black River Regulating District stated, “Since the heavy rains of July, the Hudson River - Black River Regulating District has maximized the releases of water from the Great Sacandaga Lake in accordance with the Offer of Settlement.”
The Indian Lake Reservoir is expected to rise an additional 0.8 feet over the next several days.
The Stillwater Reservoir is expected to rise approximately 1.3 feet by Monday.
“The Hudson River - Black River Regulating District is maximizing the release of water at its other facilities in accordance with the Regulating District’s operating plans,” concluded Mr. Foltan.
As of 1:30 PM, November 17, 2006, the current elevations for the reservoirs are as follows:
Great Sacandaga Lake – 770.71
Indian Lake Reservoir – 1650.75
Stillwater Reservoir – 1676.85
Sixth Lake Reservoir – 1785.28
Old Forge Reservoir – 1705.95
